DAY 1: ARRIVAL

Meet and greet at Kuching International Airport by our representative and transfer to hotel in Kuching.

DAY 2: KUCHING CITY TOUR & SARAWAK CULTURE VILLAGE

0845 hrs: Pick-up from Hotel’s Lobby for Kuching City Tour the tour includes the visit of the Tua Pek Kong temple, the oldest Chinese temple in Sarawak, built in 1876 and view the Fort Margarita from Kuching Waterfront. Proceed to the modern Civic Center to enjoy a panoramic view of the city. Drive by St. Joseph’s Cathedral, the Syariah (Muslim) Court, traditional Malay houses built on stilts and the mosque built along the riverbank. Winding through the heart of the city, look out for the majestic Astana, the former palace of the White Rajahs, now the official residence of the Governor of Sarawak. Stop for few minutes in front of the old colonial Court House, complete with a Clock Tower and a granite obelisk built in memory of the second White Rajah, Charles Brooke. The highlight of the tour is the visit of the Sarawak Museum, one of the finest in South East Asia. It is a treasure house of artifacts and exhibits with great archaeological and cultural significance. Lunch at local restaurant (own expenses).

After lunch, proceed for Sarawak Cultural Village tour. The tour combines both experiences of culture and nature. Known as the “Living Museum” Sarawak Cultural Village offers an opportunity to admire the richly diverse multi-racial cultures of Sarawak as displayed and presented in the traditional homes of the various indigenous tribes in the village. See how local handicrafts are made. The tour concludes with the fascinating 45 minutes cultural performances at the air conditioned theatre at 16:00hrs. After tour, return back to Kuching and transfer back to the hotel.

DAY 3: SEMENGGOH ORANG UTAN & 2 DAYS 1 NIGHT LEMANAK IBAN LONGHOUSE

08:00hrs Pick-up from Hotel lobby and start your journey to Semenggoh Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre situated about ½ hour drive from Kuching, here, the orang utans are being nurtured to readapt themselves to the jungle life. You will have the chance to observe the Semi-Wild Orang Utans coming out of the forest for the feeding time. Before arriving at the feeding platform, you will have a brief experience walking through the amazing untouched rainforest.

After which, proceed for 2D/1N Ngemah River Safari, situated about 250km from Kuching City town, with a few stops along the way: the first one at Serian Town – a predominantly dayak trading town, where we will stop for stretching legs, shopping for gifts for the Ibans. Second – Chinese farm house to see how pepper and cocoa are grown. The last stop will be at “Lachau” a small upcountry Chinese Village, where you stop for lunch (here barter trade are still being held between the natives of Kalimantan, the Chinese shop owners and the natives of Sarawak). The journey passes through scenic countryside or rice fields, rubber, cocoa, and pepper, oil palm plantations which intermingle with luxuriant tropical rainforest, rivers and mountain ranges.
After lunch we proceed to the final stage of the journey and arrive at the Lubok Subong jetty. Here you will board native longboat and travel by longboat further up the river to an Iban Longhouse (Rumah Kanyan/Ngemah Ili). On arrival at the longhouse, leave your belongings in the family room. You will served with coffee and tea and mingle with the families. Dinner will be served at one of the family room.

After dinner, the Ibans will sound their gongs and perform their traditional warrior and maiden dance in full ceremonial regalia with the longhouse’s chief and folk. Rice Wine “Tuak” will be served. Overnight spent in the Longhouse with mattress/mosquito-nets/pillow (very basic accommodation).

Day 04: Longhouse Lemanak - Kuching (B/L)
Breakfast in the Longhouse. The Iban people will give you a presentation with their traditional weapon, the blowpipe. After the blowpipe presentations followed by a short jungle trekking through their plantation and see the animal trapping methods. Native lunch will be served at the Riverbank. Now it is time to say goodbye to the Ibans. After proceeding downriver by longboat to the jetty, return to Kuching with a short Stopover in Lachau for refreshment, and transfer to Damai Beach Resort, overnight.

Day 05: Free at leisure

Day 06: Kuching /3D2N Mulu 4 Show Caves (B,D)
Pick-up from Damai Beach Resort and transfer to Kuching Airport for your direct flight to Mulu. Transfer from Mulu Airport to Royal Mulu Resort for check in
In the afternoon the tour continues with a 3-km plank walk through the jungle to the Deer & Langs Caves. After visiting the caves we will wait on the observation platform for the bats coming out of the Cave. Return to the Resort late evening for dinner and overnight.



Day 08: Mulu Show Caves Tour (B/L/D)
Breakfast in the resort

This morning you will be taken for a longboat ride up the Melinau River to visit the Wind and the Clearwater Caves. En- route stop at the Penan settlement of Batu Bungan who offer handmade handicrafts for sale. Low water level may require pushing the boat over rapids. Cruise past the Batu Bungan cliff with its charming myth. After exploring Wind and Clearwater Caves, have lunch at Clearwater shelter. You can opt to swim at the Clearwater pool or just enjoy the rainforest tranquility. Return to Royal Mulu Resort late evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 09: Mulu / Kuching (B)
Breakfast at the resort.

After breakfast you're free to explore the surrounding Mulu area on your own before your transfer to Mulu Airport for your return flight to Kuching and connect your onwards flight.
