DAY 01
Meet and assisted upon arrival at Kuching International Airport by flight (TBA) by a Straits Central Travel and Tour Sdn Bhd Representative. Transfer-in to the hotel in Kuching.
14:00hrs Pick-up from Hotel’s Lobby for Kuching City Tour the tour includes the visit of the Tua Pek Kong temple, the oldest Chinese temple in Sarawak, built in 1876 and view the Fort Margarita from Kuching Waterfront. Proceed to the modern Civic Center to enjoy a panoramic view of the city. Drive by St. Joseph’s Cathedral, the Syariah (Muslim) Court, traditional Malay houses built on stilts and the mosque built along the riverbank. Winding through the heart of the city, look out for the majestic Astana, the former palace of the White Rajahs, now the official residence of the Governor of Sarawak. Stop for few minutes in front of the old colonial Court House, complete with a Clock Tower and a granite obelisk built in memory of the second White Rajah, Charles Brooke. The highlight of the tour is the visit of the Sarawak Museum, one of the finest in South East Asia. It is a treasure house of artifacts and exhibits with great archaeological and cultural significance. After tour, return to the hotel in Kuching for overnight.
DAY 02 (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel
08:00hrs Pick-up from Hotel’s lobby and start your journey to Semenggoh Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre situated about ½ hour drive from Kuching, here, the orang utans are being nurtured to readapt themselves to the jungle life. You will have the chance to observe the Semi-Wild Orang Utans coming out of the forest for the feeding time. Before arriving at the feeding platform, you will have a brief experience walking through the amazing untouched rainforest. After which, transfer to a local restaurant for lunch.
After lunch, proceed for Annah Rais Longhouse (Bidayuh) tour. A pleasant drive into the countryside with the backdrop of undulating landscapes of limestone hills and valleys covered with the greenery of rainforest offers a gorgeous sight before arriving at the longhouse. The Annah Rais Longhouse which stands on the same site where the longhouse was first built 200 years ago still stand with its unique architecture built largely of bamboo, wood and leaves. The Bidayuh are absolutely warm and gentle people whose previous generations once lived as farmers and believed in animism. After tour, return back to Kuching with stop-over at Pottery Factory/Local Produces Centre and transfer to the hotel for overnight.
DAY 03 (B)
Breakfast, transfer to the airport for flight (TBA) departure.
