Day 1: Arrival Kuching

Depart from Perth / Brisbane / Auckland to Brunei to connect your onward flight to Kuching, Borneo. Meet your guide at the airport and transfer to your hotel, overnight.


Day 2: Orang Utan – Citytour (B/L/D)



Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast your guide will meet you at the hotel lobby and you will start your journey with a tour to Semenggok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre where you will have the chance to observe the Orang Utans coming out of the forest for the feeding time. Your guide will give you further details about these amazing animals.



After this fascinating experience you will proceed back to Kuching by van for lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch in Kuching your program continues with the Kuching Sightseeing tour with Kuching City Tour the tour includes the visit of the Tua Pek Kong temple, the oldest Chinese temple in Sarawak, built in 1876 and view the Fort Margarita from Kuching Waterfront and drive by St. Joseph’s Cathedral, the Syariah (Muslim) Court, traditional Malay houses built on stilts and the mosque built along the riverbank. Winding through the heart of the city, look out for the majestic Astana, the former palace of the White Rajahs, now the official residence of the Governor of Sarawak. Stop for few minutes in front of the old colonial Court House, complete with a Clock Tower and a granite obelisk built in memory of the second White Rajah, Charles Brooke. The highlight of the tour is the visit of the Sarawak Museum, one of the finest in South East Asia. It is a treasure house of artifacts and exhibits with great archaeological and cultural significance. After which, return to the hotel. Overnight in your hotel in Kuching.



Day 3: Kuching – Longhouse Safari (B/L/D)



Breakfast in the hotel. After breakfast, our guide will meet you in the lobby you will proceed for 2D/1N Ngemah River Safari, situated about 250km from Kuching Citytown, with a few stops along the way: the first one at Serian Town – a predominantly dayak trading town, where we will stop for stretching legs, shopping for gifts for the Ibans. Second – Chinese farm house to see how pepper and cocoa are grown. The last stop will be at “Lachau” a small upcountry Chinese Village, where you stop for lunch (here barter trade are still being held between the natives of Kalimantan, the Chinese shop owners and the natives of Sarawak). The journey passes through scenic countryside or rice fields, rubber, cocoa, pepper, oil palm plantations which intermingle with luxuriant tropical rainforest, rivers and mountain ranges.



After lunch we proceed to the final stage of the journey and arrive at the Lubok Subong jetty. Here you will board native longboat and travel by longboat further up the river to an Iban Longhouse (Rumah Kanyan/Ngemah Ili). On arrival at the longhouse, leave your belongings in the family room. You will served with coffee and tea and mingle with the families. Dinner will be served at one of the family room.



After dinner, the Ibans will sound their gongs and perform their traditional warrior and maiden dance in full ceremonial regalia with the longhouse’s chief and folk. Rice Wine “Tuak” will be served. Overnight spent in the Longhouse with mattress/mosquito-nets/pillow (very basic accommodation)



Day 4: Longhouse Lemanak – Kuching (B/L)



Breakfast in the Longhouse. The Iban people will give you a presentation with their traditional weapon, the blowpipe. After the blowpipe presentations followed by a short jungle trekking through their plantation and see the animal trapping methods. Native lunch will be served at the Riverbank. Now it is time to say goodbye to the Ibans. After proceeding downriver by longboat your guide will bring you back to your hotel in Kuching with a short Stopover in Lachau for refreshment (drinks not included in the package price) and transfer to Damai Beach Resort or Damai Puri Resort & Spa for overnight.



Day 5: Damai Beach Resort or Damai Puri Resort & Spa ( Breakfast )



Breakfast in the resort. Whole day free at leisure at the resort, overnight.

Day 6: Bako National Park (B/L)



Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast, a scenic drive this morning brings you to Bako Fishing village where an exciting boat ride takes you to marvel at the abundant natural beauty of Sarawak’s most popular National Park. Trek along the trails to spot wildlife in its natural surroundings including the proboscis monkeys, the monitor lizards, bearded pigs, silver leaf monkeys and more than one hundred species of birds. The stunning tropical rainforest ranges from the mangrove swamp forest to kerangas (Heath forest) to cliff and beach vegetations. Exotic plants found along the trails include the several species of pitcher plants and wild orchids. You may end your trekking at a beautiful secluded swimming beach. Lunch will be served in the Park’s Canteen (served local food only). Return in the afternoon to Damai Beach Resort / Damai Puri Resort & Spa, overnight.



Day 7: Kuching – Airport (B)



Breakfast in the resort. Your guide will pick you up and bring you to the airport for your flight home or your extension destination.

Includes:-
• Airfares, English speaking guide, return land/ boats transfers, meals, entrances fees and hotel accommodation as stated in the program only.



Excludes:-
• All airport-taxes, tipping, camera and video fees, travel insurance and what is not mentioned in the program.

Term & Conditions:-
• For all package programs booked on SIC basis we reserve the right to change or alter the tour dates to fix the SIC tours without giving further notice to the agent concerned. However we guarantee that all tours booked will be carried out within the time frame/period booked under all circumstances, even if the dates for some departures are altered. Anyway, we will provide the itinerary to all our clients on their arrivals.
